A warm welcome to Fortis Therapy in Lincoln: Celebrating the community behind our new chapter

The Importance of Human Connection and Community
On Monday, 28th September, we officially opened our new Fortis Therapy & Training centre in the heart of Lincoln. After months of planning, renovations, conversations, and preparations, we were incredibly proud to reach this milestone. But while the opening marked the start of an exciting new chapter for Fortis, the journey here has reminded us of something weāve always believed: the importance of human connection.
As a mental health organisation, we talk a great deal about the value of relationships and community. Over the past few months, weāve had the privilege of experiencing those very things ourselves, thanks to the generosity and encouragement of Lincolnās business community.
And we wanted to take a moment to say thank you!

Therapy in Lincoln: A New Chapter for Fortis
Our expansion into Lincoln represents much more than a new address. With 12 dedicated rooms, a growing team of therapists, and space for training, collaboration, and professional development, our new therapy space on West Parade is designed to make high-quality mental health support more accessible to individuals, children, young people, and families across Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
Alongside our therapeutic services, weāre looking forward to building relationships with local businesses, schools, and organisations, and supporting conversations about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, education, and the wider community. But establishing ourselves in a new city isnāt something we could, or would want to, do alone. So that brings us on to just some of the individuals and businesses who have helped us along the way.
Thank You to Lincolnās Business Community
In the lead-up to our opening, weāve been fortunate to meet so many people who have offered their time, expertise, encouragement and opportunities to connect. From introductions over coffee and conversations at networking events to collaborative projects and invitations to share our story, each interaction has helped us feel part of Lincolnās thriving business community.
Weād particularly like to extend our thanks to:
- Wilkin Chapman Rollits with whom we had the pleasure of collaborating on our recent EducaTED event, bringing together professionals to discuss important issues facing education, alongside Forrester Boyd.
- Streets Accountants and Nicholsons Chartered Accountants, for being part of the warm welcome weāve received from Lincolnās professional community.
- APSS, Kier Architects, Greater Lincolnshire Careers Hub and Lincoln College, for their connections and encouragement as weāve established ourselves in the city.
- Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Business Club, for providing opportunities to meet, connect and share ideas with businesses across the region.
- STACK Lincoln, for being part of the local community that has welcomed us, and for hosting our first Lincoln team outing!
- Magna Radio, for giving us the opportunity to share our story and talk about our new Lincoln therapy space with listeners across the area.
- Julie Priestley at DBS and Adam Driver at Authentic Comms, for their support, conversations and connections along the way.
- Firth Construction, for bringing our vision for our Lincoln space to life. From the renovation work through to the finishing touches, their hard work has helped transform the building into a welcoming space for our therapists, clients and wider community.
- Cock-a-Doodle-Doo, for their creative marketing support and helping us build awareness of Fortis as we prepared to open our doors in Lincoln.
These are just some of the organisations and individuals weād like to acknowledge. Many more people have taken the time to introduce themselves, offer advice, share our news, or simply wish us well. To everyone, thank you!
Fortis Therapy in Lincoln: Eric the Imp Explores the City
Of course, we couldnāt talk about our arrival in Lincoln without mentioning a certain little character who has been accompanying us on our travels. In the weeks leading up to our opening, Eric the Imp became a Fortis ambassador and mascot, joining us as we explored the city, visited local businesses, and introduced ourselves to our new neighbours.
What started as a light-hearted way to document our Lincoln journey became a lovely opportunity to discover more about the people, places, and businesses that make the city what it is. From familiar faces to new introductions, Ericās adventures have given us plenty of reasons to get out, explore and make connections.
And while he may have been the smallest member of the Fortis team, heās certainly helped us make ourselves at home!
Therapy in Lincoln and Mental Health Support for the Community
At Fortis, our work is rooted in the understanding that people donāt exist in isolation. Our mental health is influenced by the relationships we build, the environments we spend time in and the communities we belong to. That applies to individuals, families, workplaces and organisations alike.
We believe that meaningful change happens when people work together, share knowledge and create opportunities for connection. Thatās why collaboration has always been central to our approach, whether weāre providing therapy, supporting schools, delivering workplace wellbeing training, or working alongside other organisations to improve access to mental health support, and why the welcome weāve received in Lincoln means so much to us.
Now that weāve officially settled into our new home, weāre looking forward to what comes next. Our Lincoln therapy space is open and welcoming referrals for adults, children, young people and families seeking professional mental health support.
Weāre also looking forward to continuing our work with local employers, education providers, and community organisations by offering therapeutic services, training, and opportunities to collaborate. Whether youāre looking for therapy, exploring mental health support for your organisation or simply interested in learning more about what we do, weād love to hear from you.
To everyone who has played a part in our Lincoln journey so far, thank you for making us feel so welcome. Weāre proud to call Lincoln our new home, and weāre looking forward to becoming part of its story!
