CBT Strategies for Primary School PupilsOne day course taking place on 2nd September (Hull) and 3rd September (Grimsby).
In the past, CBT has predominantly been used with adults, but now with greater emphasis on child mental health and wellbeing, CBT models and techniques can be successfully adapted to work with children.
Introducing CBT techniques and strategies at an early age can hopefully avoid the development of automatic behaviour cycles – ways of thinking, behaving and feeling in adulthood that cause distress and then be harder to change.
In this course, you will learn:
- To understand the psycho-educational aspect of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
- To feel competent in the use of one appropriate CBT model and associated CBT techniques to help primary school pupils gain a greater understanding of their unhealthy (negative) thoughts and how to change them to a healthy (realistic/balanced) thinking.
- CBT course 2 follows on from CBT 1 and introduces a variety of practical coping skills designed to support pupils and aid their ability to manage their issues.
Taking place Monday 2nd September, 9am to 12pm (CBT 1) and 1pm to 4pm (CBT 2) in Hull, and Tuesday 3rd September, 9am to 12pm (CBT 1) and 1pm to 4pm (CBT 2) in Grimsby. Venue to be confirmed. Each course is £55 +VAT per person. If you attend both, cost is a reduced price of £100 +VAT. You must complete CBT 1 to move on to CBT 2.
