Why | I am proud to be the Managing Director of Fortis Therapy & Training.  I began training as a therapist following a car accident when I was 19 years old and I was diagnosed with PTSD.  I had really poor experiences of therapy and counselling, so I embarked on training to see what it was really supposed to be, I enjoyed it so much I kept going and did over 7 years training in total.

Many years later, Fortis was established in 2012, and we work hard to provide the gold standard in mental health and emotional wellbeing services, delivering high quality, effective, and accessible services to people of all ages, across all sectors.  Fortis operates across the UK and I work with a team of expert practitioners who are as passionate about the support Fortis provides as I am!

My Passion | Is mental health! I believe the best way to approach mental health is in a pragmatic, educational, and engaging way, implementing a psychology-first people-centred framework in business. Organisational development and culture change programmes, incorporating interventions, training, mediation, reflective practice, and coaching to create environments that are productive, effective, and successful.

My Little Known Fact | In December 2018, I gave my first TEDx talk at Lincoln’s TEDxBrayfordPoolWomen event, and then I was invited to do another one in 2022 and it went live in February 2023 – I loved doing it!

My Self-Care Tip | Get outside, even if your head tells you a million reasons not to, you will never regret doing something that helps you – walking, running, playing – do it anyway.

I love too, spending time with my husband and three children, and og course Merlin.
