The goal is to create an honest, trusting and respectful relationship between you and your therapist so that you can work through your thoughts, feelings, experiences and hopes for the future. Who do we support?

Here to support everyone

People of all ages, genders, backgrounds and circumstances including couples and families. Adults may access therapy to resolve struggles or to adjust to life-changing events, whereas young people may need help with any confusing feelings or life transitions. Our therapists will assist couples in working through miscommunication, and help families who are dealing with difficult dynamics. For children, we are able to provide a safe opportunity to express memories in an effective, creative, less intrusive way.

How we support

Therapy Sessions

We understand face-to-face therapy is not always possible or convenient, (and can be daunting at first) which is why we can talk with you online as well as in person. We facilitate therapy sessions by Skype, Zoom, Facetime, Video calling and telephone to anyone across the UK and Europe. We have great feedback and outcomes from adults, young people, children, couples and families who have had sessions on line (and face to face too!)

Face to face:
Meeting with a therapist in person. We’ll have a chat about how you are feeling, before pairing you with a Fortis therapist who has the experience and expertise to help you. We will then  arrange your sessions with a qualified, experienced therapist in the location nearest to you, our dedicated therapy spaces are in Grimsby, Hull, Scunthorpe or Louth.

Online:
You can arrange therapy sessions online using Skype, Zoom, Facetime, video calling or telephone anywhere across the UK and Europe. We have a very high success rate and great feedback from individuals and families whose children have had sessions this way. The process is exactly the same; we’ll arrange a suitable date and time for a session, the only difference is you’ll be seeing us online.

A Range of Creative Therapies

Our therapists work in a variety of ways, it is  not a one size fits all service and it is essential that clients engage from the beginning.  Every therapist has a’toolkit’ of therapies and resources, and use different ways of working from talking therapies to using art and craft, sand and Lego-based therapy and drama as well as CBT, EMDR, CBASP.

Approved Provider for Adoption Support

Adoption can be an extremely rewarding but challenging time for both parents and children, and in the past, many families may not have received sufficient help – particularly when it came to awareness of mental health issues. This is why the Government has implemented the Adoption Support Fund – so adoptive families can easily access the therapeutic support they need.

Fortis Therapy & Training are proud to be on the Approved Provider List for Therapeutic Services for the Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium. We work closely with both adoptive families and the Local Authority during and following adoption, supporting the new parent-child relationship and helping to establish a loving and stable home.
