Emma Cooke
Why | I am a caring person by nature and have always gravitated towards caring roles. After having worked in a variety of settings within this sector, I found myself wanting to help and support people on a deeper level. Counselling has helped me to achieve this.
Who | I can work with adults, young people, and children. I can also work with Parents/carers and families.
How | I primarily work in an integrative way, drawing on many different therapeutic approaches and modalities. This enables the therapy to be tailored to the individual clients needs. I can also work with parents/careers and families using Therapeutic Parenting and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
My Passion | I am passionate about learning and developing my knowledge and skills, especially around attachments and trauma.
My Little Known Fact | I love animals and own a horse, a dog, and a few reptiles.
My Self-care Tip | what works for me is being out in nature, especially near water, ideally a lake or a river, and listening to the sound of water flowing and the leaves rustling in the wind. I also find journalling to be helpful when overthinking or feeling overwhelmed with lifeās little challenges.
