Reflective Practice

Improving the way you work through facilitated reflection

We all take a little time to reflect on our day, whether it’s thinking about a situation that’s occurred that day or how events in our lives have unfolded. This is, in its simplest form, Reflective Practice – setting time aside to consider and evaluate what has been happening in your personal and professional lives, learning from your experience and developing your own practices.

Reflective Practice within the Work Place

During Reflective Practice, an experienced, independent facilitator will guide and supervise the session. Together, you will look at your role, tasks and practices, management styles and how you respond to challenges, answering questions such as:

  • What has happened?
  • Who was involved?
  • How did you react to those events?
  • Why did you react that way?
  • What are the positives and negatives?
  • How do you feel about it?
  • Was there any personal resonance?
  • Is there anything else you could have done?
  • What would you change next time?

Through this, you will be able to understand in detail your role within your place of work, be more considered in your practice and increase your confidence in what you do. You will be continually learning and developing, helping to improve the quality of your work and the support you’re providing.

Sessions can be delivered on a one-on-one basis for individuals, or within a group. This allows peers to provide support, and the opportunity to share ideas. Every session is delivered by an experienced, independent facilitator and is completely confidential.
