Promoting staff wellbeing in schools.
Being part of a school team can feel like being a part of a very close knit family. Good days are fantastic, but when an issue rests heavily on one person’s shoulders, if they feel as though there is no room for an open discussion for fear of rocking the boat, it can send out ripples that knock everyone off balance.
Instilling an open and honest culture where lines of communication are flowing between an understanding SLT and their teachers, is vital to achieving an enlightened and emotionally informed culture. Making space for your team’s wellbeing needs and giving them the comfort that comes with knowing there is room for those needs to be discussed, makes way for creative collaboration that results in a fulfilled and happy workforce.
A workforce full of individuals who feel that they are valued, who can confidently bring issues to the table, and have a tangible balance between work and home, all of which reflects in their own personal wellbeing making sure they show up bringing their best to the table.
