Joanne Brutnell
Why | My journey into therapy began after my husband and I spent over five years as foster carers. During that time, we welcomed children into our home who needed safety, stability and someone to believe in them. Eventually, three of the children we cared for became a permanent part of our family. Although we no longer had the space to continue fostering, my desire to support children and young people remained strong. I decided to retrain as a counsellor so I could continue making a difference.
Who | I work with children, young people and adults
How | I work in an integrative, person-centred way and adapt my approach to suit each individual, using creative methods and both direct and indirect ways of working with children, young people and adults.
My passion | is supporting individuals to feel understood, valued and confident in their own voice, especially those who may have feel unheard or misunderstood.
My little known fact | I love making memories with my family whether it be at home or away. family is very important to me.
My self care tip | You canāt pour from an empty cup, so make time for your own wellbeingādoing things that make you happy, help you relax, or allow you to recharge.
