Kelly Newton
Why | I have always had a passion for supporting young people. My journey began when I went to university to study to become a primary school teacher. Through this, I became more aware of the wellbeing needs of young people and the importance of early intervention. After needing to access external mental health services within my family, I saw firsthand the barriers people face. At this point, I knew I wanted to be part of the change, and this is when I studied to become a therapist.
Who | Adults and young people
How | I use person-centred therapy and integrate CBT and play strategies.
My Passion | My real passion comes from supporting and empowering others around me. I also love spending time with my young family and my gorgeous Dalmatian, Buddy, and teacup Yorkshire Terrier, Albert.
My Little Known Fact | I have a slight obsession with donkeys - I just love them!
My Self-Care Tip | Be present. Sometimes we have lots of things on our mind, which can lead to not being fully present. Take the time to do the things you love with the people you care about, and make sure you are embracing the experience.
